“Energy flux is the common denominator of all natural and human systems. Literally, energy means the capacity to do work —— to move against a force, to create a rise in temperature, to cause a flow of electrons (…) The concept of energy has a transcendental quality, which is a reality with a proven validity and durability.”
-Fred Eversley

Everything is Energy
A parabola concentrates and directs the flow of energy. Referencing the transcendental potential of the curved parabolic shape, Gina Hunt has created a site-responsive installation for her solo exhibition Everything is Energy at Conkling Gallery.
Everything is Energy integrates two distinct parabolas based on the gallery’s architecture and is created with hand-dyed theater scrim, referencing colors observed from the sunlight’s refraction through our atmosphere.
